How to Choose  the Best Gaming Speakers - Buyer's Guide

Many gamers use headphones to hear what they want during gaming time. However, headphones aren't that good, especially when you are gaming with your friends for fun or to compete. In this case, gaming speakers are essential.

With all the many options available on the market, how do you get the best? Consider these tips when buying your best gaming speakers.

The Size of Your gaming Room

The size of your gaming room will very much influence the kind of speakers you will buy. If you have a small room with sensitive neighbors next door, you need to settle for 2.1 speakers, which produce high-quality sound without disturbing other people. If yours is a spacious room, however, you can acquire 5.1 speakers or higher levels. The room size will also determine whether you'll need an external subwoofer or not.

    Your PC Specifications

Your PC is also an important consideration on which gaming speakers you will buy. Buy gaming speakers that can be supported by your PC. Some PCs can either support 5.1 or 2.1 type of speaker; as such, make sure to buy the right speakers that will be comfortable with your PC.

    Know Which Features You Need

If you want to enhance sound from the PC's in-built speakers, then two channel speakers are perfect. However, if you want to hear the quality sound and feel the highest or lowest frequencies, consider choosing a subwoofer. Moreover, ensure the wattage of the speaker is proportional to the sound produced.

    Your Budget

Money is a vital aspect when it comes to buying gaming speakers. As you already know, you will get what you pay for. Usually, 5.1 and 7.1 type of speakers are expensive than the 2.1 channel speakers. As a result, you need to choose wisely to get the best without necessarily digging deep into your pocket.

    Benefits of Gaming Speakers

    Provide Great Sound

Probably everyone wants a great sound from the gaming system or music devices. High-quality speakers are one way of getting that great sound you are yearning for. In order to improve your gaming experience, you need quality and clear sound from the best speakers.

    Improves Your Gaming Experience

One of the things needed for a greater PC gaming experience is superior quality speakers. Games have excellent audio tracks and sound effects that can be improved by your high-quality speakers. However, if you have poor quality speakers, you stand a chance to lose the best gaming experience.

    Ability to Play Loud Volumes

Gaming speakers are crucial when you want to amplify you gaming sounds for better listening. Higher volumes will allow you to react faster when gaming compared to less inaudible sounds that make you strain to hear. As such, speakers can help you take your gaming expertise to an entirely new level with clear and quality sound from your speakers.

What Differentiates The Best Gaming Speakers

Gaming speakers are differentiated based on the aspects that determine the quality of sound they produce. Here are some of the aspects.

    Output Power

The power output can be used to differentiate between gaming speakers. Although it may not influence the quality of sound a speaker produces, it can tell how powerful the speaker is and how high the volume can go.

    Frequency Range

The frequency range makes a great difference in gaming speakers. In most cases, high-quality speakers will feature a wide frequency range.

    Connection Type

Gaming speakers have three main ways they connect to the PC: analog, digital, as well as wireless. The 5mm connect is a commonly used type of analog connector for desktop speakers. Optical cable is used for digital connections while Bluetooth serves as the most used wireless connector.

    Best Ethernet Cable for Gaming

Are you considering using an ethernet cable to improve your internet speed?  Or are you just looking for the best ethernet cable for gaming?

The advantage  Reliability, and consistency. These are really the things that define an ethernet cable and what it has over WiFi. When it comes to gaming, the smooth and consistent connection is very important, especially if you can get it for cheap.

Here are the best ethernet cables for gaming.

Why Do You Need an Ethernet Cable?

Like I mentioned in the paragraph above, it comes down to two main things, reliability, and consistency.

    Reliability

I think that ethernet cables are generally more reliable because of multiple things. The main one is that it is something physical. If an issue comes up, there is a physical object for you to look at and figure out what the problem is. WiFi is an invisible signal that you cannot touch and could be screwed up by a number of things. I personally think that this makes it more reliable because it is easier to deal with and fix.

    Consistency

I think there is one thing that makes it consistent. The fact that it is physical. This basically affects everything if you didn't figure it out buy now. The fact that it is physical means that you can guide the signal and plug it into one item. The only way the signal could become weaker is if the power goes out or your modem/router is old and about to die. Because the signal is being pinpointed and directed into one machine, the signal will be almost perfectly consistent and won't be weakened by passing through walls and ceilings.

What Makes a Great Ethernet Cable?

    Length

Making sure that the length of your cable is correct is pretty important. I like to have one that is exactly the right size so make sure you measure the route your are planning on running your cable. Amazon has different length options right below the name of the product on their website.

    Protection

Some of these cables are extra protected and sturdy. This mainly prevents dogs and cats from chewing up your cables, but I guess it could stop other things as well.

    Speed

This isn't as important because as long as you have a some what decent router you will be running games super fast, but it does make a difference. The fastest cables will run incredible smooth and encounter little to no issues.

    Future Proofing

The newest "type" of ethernet cable is the Cat7 model, it is compatible with the Cat5, Cat6, and Cat6a models. Since it is backwards compatible with these, it is probably safe to assume that the Cat7 cables will be compatible with Cat8's when those are released. So that makes future proofing pretty simple. The only reason they wouldn't be compatible is if the Cat8 cables are based off of a whole new design. This would most likely not happen because then all routers and modems would have to be remade to support that.

    Best Ethernet Cable for Gaming

This Vandesail cable is a Cat7, and runs at 10 Gb/s. It supports bandwidths up to 1000 Mhz and has to RJ45 connectors at either end. These connectors prevent electromagnetic interference, that combined with the high bandwidth and speed make for a smooth and fast gaming experience. On Amazon, you can find it in 3ft, 6.5ft, 10ft, and 16ft.

    Pros:

    Pros:

    Cat7

    10 Gb/s and 1000 Mhz bandwidth

Twisted cables to avoid degrading signal quality

RJ45 connectors protect from electromagnetic interference

    Recommendation:

I think that this is probably the best ethernet cable for gaming, the only reason not to go for it is durability. The Tera Grand has much more protection so if you are planning on someone or something being rough on it, go for that one. This cable supports almost twice the bandwidth and is only slightly cheaper, it is a matter of cents. I think with this one, you just get more bang for your buck.

The Tera Grand is a Cat7 cable, currently the newest model. It runs at 10 Gb/s at 600 Mhz, easily on the faster side of ethernet cables. The twisted cable pair is shielded by aluminum mylar foil and 85% tinned copper braid shield. This will not be damaged very easily and will most likely die due to life length rather than being destroyed. You can find it in 3ft, 7ft, 10ft, 14ft, 25ft, and 50ft.

    Pros:

    Pros:

    Cat7

    10 Gb/s and 600 Mhz bandwidth

Double shielded (aluminum mylar foil and 85% tinned copper)

RJ45 connectors protect from electromagnetic interference

    Recommendation

I think it is pretty hard to say a top rated ethernet cable is bad, so in all honesty, these are mainly rated based off of price. This cable is the most protected against any sort of interference that might arise. That probably makes it the one best ethernet cable for gaming because one, there is very low chance of electromagnetic interference, and two, it is the cheapest.

Just like all the others, the MATEIN cable is a Cat7 running at 10 Gb/s. It supports bandwidths up to 600Mhz (slower than the Vandesail) and has RJ45 connectors once again. The cables are 100% bare copper wire and are twisted but unshielded. You can find it at 50ft on Amazon, there are unfortunately no other options. Comes with 20 clips for free.

    Pros:

    Pros:

    Cat7

    Only at 50ft

    10 Gb/s and 600 Mhz bandwidth

100% bare copper, twisted but unshielded

RJ45 connectors protect from electromagnetic interference

    Recommendation

Because it comes with those 20 clips, I think this is the best option if you are not planning on running the cable through walls. The free clips mean that you can easily run it in the crease of the ceiling or the crease of the floor with ease. It is also the thinnest product on the list meaning it can go under carpet and you will not see or feel it.  Like iI've said, these products are basically the same thing, just with different little features.

The Bxton cable, once again, runs at 10 Gb/s with bandwidths up to 600Mhz. It as two RJ45 connectors on either side to prevent electromagnetic interference. Unlike some of the others, it is shielded, but not as significantly as the Tera Grand. It has 4 twisted wires instead of 2, I'm not 100% sure if it has a major noticeable effect, but it is something worth noting. The only available option for length is 100 feet.

    Pros:

    Pros:

    Cat7

    Only at 100ft

    10 Gb/s and 600 Mhz bandwidth

    4 twisted and shielded wires

RJ45 connectors protect from electromagnetic interference

    Recommendation

I mainly threw this in here for anyone who needs a super long cable. If your like me and you gaming setup is really far away from your router or modem, you need a long cable. It has the same speed and bandwidth as the MATEIN and Tera Grand, it is just significantly longer.

    Conclusion

I think that the Vandesail 2 Pack Cat7 RJ45 LAN Cable is the best ethernet cable for gaming. You could make an argument for the Tera Grand if you need the extra protection, but personally, I would prefer the extra bandwidth. In addition to this, it is only slightly more expensive than the Tera Grand and you are getting lost twice the bandwidth.

    Best HDD for Gaming

    Best HDD For Gaming

An HDD is very important if you play a lot of games. I kind of phase in and out of games,I buy it and play it for a while, then stop, then come back after a while. I reached a point where I ran out of storage and tried to go delete some games, but I couldn't bring myself to do it because I felt like I might come back to all of them. This is where you would buy an HDD, you can simply transfer your games over to there and boom, you have more space.

So here are what we think are the best HDDs for gaming:

    What Makes a Great HDD?

    Transfer Speed

This is an important detail but only has a difference of a few ms (doesn't apply as much to consoles). Every hard disk drive runs at a certain RPM (revolutions per minute). This is how many times the disk inside of the drive spins per minute. It affects how fast your hard drive will run. It could potentially add 3 or 4 ms to the response time, but if you have enough RAM in your computer and cache space in your HDD, it shouldn't even be noticeable.

    Cache Space

This kind of piggy backs on the transfer speed because it affects it. When the drive needs to move data from one area to another, it uses a piece of embedded memory called the cache. Having enough cache space is important because it will help speed up the process of transfer files which will affect you transfer speed.

    Memory

Make sure you buy a drive with enough memory for your situation. If you plan on storing tons of games on this drive, go for a 2 tera-byte one. If you plan on only storing a few games or clearing off the rest of your computer stuff onto here, maybe get the 1 tera-byte one.

    Why Do RPMs Matter?

Since I actually wondered this myself at one point, I decided to go over it.To be completely honest, they don't. Where it starts to matter is if you have an older model. These days, all of the HDDs are starting to have more cache space and more RAM and all that stuff. But if you are purchasing something from 2010 or earlier, you may not have tons of cache space.

This means that you would want something around 7200 rpms or higher as opposed to 5400 rpms. But, like I said, any modern HDD could function fine with 5400 or 7200 rpms because they typically have more cache space.

    Best HDDs For Gaming

I think that this is the best HDD for gaming. While this isn't much different than the other HDDs in terms of RPMs, cache space, etc. It really sets itself apart with its price and storage. If you look at the WesternDigital 2TB HDD, you will see that it is over $100, while this one is in the $80-$90 range. It runs at 7200 RPMs, it is hard to find faster than that, and has 64MB of cache space. They also have a program that allows the drive to be easily retired, I won't go into it, but when you need a new drive, look it up and follow the steps.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Low price, high storage

    Drive retirement program

    7200 RPMs

    64MBs of cache space

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to anyone, but mainly PC, laptop, and desktop users. It is possible to install this on consoles, but it is much more difficult. If you are willing to put in the time and effort to install it, go ahead, but there are some console hard drives lower on the list.

This is probably the most practical hard disk drive, definitely one of the best HDDs for gaming. The only reason I don't think it is the best overall is because of some simple math. If you look at the Seagate 3TB HDD, it is about $85 and has 3TB, if we look at this Western Digital HDD, it is about $45 and has 1TB. It is a little less than half the price, but you get a third of the storage. That being said, if you don't need 3TB, jump on this one, it is very cheap, very high quality, and doesn't have tons of storage.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Very low price

    Low storage

    Program that monitors HDD health

    No installation parts or manual

    7200 RPMs

    64MBs of cache space

    Recommendation

if you only need a little but of storage and don't want to buy more than you need, this is the one. There isn't really much to be said, it is 1TB which is on the lower end of HDDs and if you don't need 3TB, then this is the obvious choice. It isn't worth paying twice the price if you aren't even going to use the extra space.

While it is much more expensive than all of the there HDDs, it is the most covered (as far as protection). The drive is formatted with vibration control technology, corruption protection technology, and NoTouch ramp load technology. I have no idea what the third thing is, but I'm sure it's useful. In addition to this, it has a 5 year warranty in case something happens. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with any installation parts or a manual so you will have to figure out how to do that on your own.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Tons of different protection technologies

    High price, lower storage

    5 year warranty

    No installation parts or manual

    7200 RPMs

    64MBs of cache space

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to anyone who is prone to dropping/breaking things. I am very careful and cautious with all of my technology, and I don't believe I have ever had something break as a result of me (one of my phones completely disconnected from everything, I don't know how). But if you are hard on your computer or just your belongings in general, try out this hard disk drive, mainly because of the warranty.

Best PS4 Hard Drive: Seagate 2tb Hard Drive for PS4

I think that this is the best hard drive for PS4. The set-up takes less than 3 minutes to do, you literally just hit a couple buttons and it is formatted. Unfortunately the instructions are unclear in the box. Turn off your system, plug in the hard drive, turn on your system and follow the short formatting prompts. The game transfer takes less time than the other devices which is another huge plus.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Set-up is very short

Price is somewhere in the middle

    7200 RPMs

    64MBs of cache space

    Recommendation:

I'm gonna keep this short and obvious, this is the best HDD for gaming if you are on a PS4. If you want a more in depth list check out our article on the best hard drives for PS4.

Best Xbox One Hard Drive: Seagate Game Drive for Xbox 2TB

I can confirm that this is the best hard drive for the Xbox One. I have owned this one for several years, since the Xbox One came out, and it has yet to fail me. I have something like twenty games on here and still have more than a tera byte of storage left. I own the other HDDs, but not for as long as this one, this is a solid hard drive that is unfortunately not compatible with any other systems.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Set-up is extremely short

Price is somewhere in the middle

    7200 RPMs

    64MBs of cache space

    Very long life

    Recommendation:

Once again going to keep it short, best hard drive for Xbox One.

    Conclusion

The Seagate 3TB BarraCuda Internal Hard Drive is the best HDD over all. It has the best storage to price ratio, the highest quality, and the highest rating. If you are on console, those are the two best hard drives for either console, and I strongly recommend both of them.

    Best Monitor for PS4

    Best Monitor For PS4

Having a great gaming monitor is very important. There is nothing worse than logging on the play your favorite game, but not being able to have it displayed well. Consoles tend to be less finicky than a PC because they have a set frame rate and not hundreds of different frame rates. This makes it easier to find monitors that suit the needs of your console. If any on this list are too expensive, check out our article on the Best Gaming Monitors Under $200.

If you are a get to the point kind of person, the BenQ Zowie is the best gaming monitor for PS4 in my opinion. If you would rather dive a little deeper and look at all of the monitors, here are the ones that we recommend:

What Makes A Great Gaming Monitor

There are a few basic things that every gaming monitor should have. The first is great quality, I think that this is a given, you don’t want the video quality to be terrible. The second is no lag or tear, this is very important because you don’t want games to be not playable. The final is as little response time as possible, 1 ms is ideal and the best, but 2 ms is just as good.

    Size

Size is definitely a very important thing to think about, if you have limited space, you can buy something the size of a tv and set it on your desk. There is a pretty wide variety of sizes on this list, ranging from 23.6″ to 27.” While limited space can influence your decision, it should not control it, you need to think about the aspect ratio of the computer and how wide you want it to be.

Bigger does not always mean better as some people might think, if the aspect ratio is closer to 1:1 (you find this using the diagonal length of the monitor) more of the monitor is in your field of vision, if it is farther, the monitor will be wider and you will see less of it. That being said, if you have the space, I would go for the wider monitor, all of these are small enough that they will be in your field of vision (obviously if you don’t have the space get a smaller one).

    Future Proofing

This isn't quite as big of a deal because adapters are typically released. If a new input comes out and you can't plug something in, I'm sure that you will be able to find an adapter for it.

    Connectors

If you don't buy any of these monitors for your console, please, please, make sure the monitor you buy has an HDMI input. That is necessary if you plan on actually playing the games on you monitor.

    Viewing Angle

This tends to be less of an issue if you plan on looking at it head on, but if for some reason you want to use it from the side or a tilted angle, make sure the angle is wide enough. All of these monitors have good viewing angles and that shouldn’t become an issue, unless you friends crowd around your monitor at all angle to watch you get the Fortnite Victory Royale.

    Resolution

You want a high resolution because it makes everything look sharper. All of these monitors are 1920 x 1080 pixels, this is Full HD and is what you could call “the standard.” This is something to take into consideration once you bump up your budget, but you want to look for a high Pixels per Inch (number of horizontal pixels divided by the horizontal dimension of the monitor). The resolution can bring you from Full HD to 8k.

    Features

This part just comes down to personal opinion, not everyone of these monitors contains every feature from the others, so it comes down to which you like the most. I would opt for any of the ones with blue light filters, those always have a special spot in my heart. But who knows, you may prefer the dual HDMI inputs or the higher quality internal speaker, that is for you to choose.

    Best Gaming Monitors for PS4

The LG has one main feature that makes it amazing, the bezel. As you can see in the picture, the thing is basically all screen. The bezel is 2.5mm meaning that there won't be any distraction or cut off made by wide edges. The stand is not very good even though it might look like it. If you look closely, you will see that near the bottom, it thins out and this makes it very wobbly, it is worth investing in a monitor stand, but that is another expense.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    IPS panel

    Stand is bad/wobbly

    HDMI cable included

    Almost all screen

    Recommendation

As long as you don't mind spending the extra money to get a stand, I think this is a great monitor. I personally don't want to buy a stand considering this monitor is already over $200, but if you are comfortable buying one and can afford it, knock yourself out.

The AOC i2367FH has a 23" display with 1920 x  1080 Full HD display. There is an IPS panel for a consistent display from all angels. Unfortunately, there is a 5 ms response time which does bug me, but it makes up for it. The dual HDMI inputs with HDCP is a huge plus, there is also one VGA input. Finally, it has VESA mount capabilities if you want to switch out the stand.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    IPS panel

    5 ms response time

    Dual HDMI with HDCP

    Stand has VESA mount capabilities

    Minimal lag and tear

    Recommendation

If you are coming from anything lower than 4ms, I would not recommend this. If your console's monitor broke, and it had a 1ms response time, there are others on this list that have that. While it doesn't matter a bunch on controller, it bugs me especially because I play so much. If you are a first time buyer looking for something a little cheaper or you are only going to be gaming a little bit, I think that this is a great monitor for you.

This Full HD, 1920 x 1080 has a stunning display. The colors are great out of the box (you might need a few tweaks) which makes for an easy setup. Unfortunately, the response time is a little bit below average at 4 ms, but as long as you are not using keyboard and mouse, this doesn't really matter. It is a 27 inch monitor (very large) and has minimal lag and tear, there is no FreeSync though.

    Pros:

    Cons:

Colors look great out of the box

    4 ms response time

    HDMI, DVI, and VGA

    Stand is sturdy and small

    Minimal lag and tear

    Recommendation

I think I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't care about the response time. This might actually be a deal breaker for me because I am used to a 1 ms response time. While the colors are amazing and are probably better than what I play on, I am too used to the 1 ms response time. One of my friends play on a TV something between a 10-15 ms response time (they dropped it moving into their house and he has hit it before) and playing there is a nightmare. The difference is almost unnoticeable, but still there, it really isn't that big of a deal coming from 2ms, but coming from 1ms, it is a little hard to get used to.

This is a very high quality monitor, it has a 1 ms response time with ASUS GameFast technology. It runs at 75Hz and has dual HDMI ports. The stand has height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments to accommodate anyone. It has very in depth color tweaks that allow you to fix any issues with the color straight out of the box. There is FreeSync technology which basically stops all tearing and game lag for a better experience.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    1ms response time

Colors don't look very good out of the box

    Dual HDMI ports

    Internal speakers are pretty bad

    Stand is very adjustable

    FreeSync technology

    Low blue light/blue light filter

    Colors are very adjustable

    Recommendation

I think that this is one of the best monitors for PS4 IF, you are willing to take the time to straighten out the colors. After the colors are adjusted to your preferences, which seems fairly easy to do, this monitor displays the colors beautifully. The FreeSync technology makes for a great gaming experience without any lag or tear and it can run graphics heavy games really well. If you plan on using your own speakers or headphones, then the speakers shouldn't be a problem. If you need a pair of cheap, good quality headphones, check out are article on the Best PS4 Headsets Under $50.

BenQ never stops amazing me. They completely optimized this monitor for console with a 1ms response time and ultra-low input lag technology for console gaming. It has multiple color presets for RTS, FPS, and Fighting games. Its contrast is a whopping 12M:1, which is easily the highest on this list. There is a low blue light feature and flicker free technology which always have a special spot in my heart. It has an insane amount of ports, dual HDMI, DVI-D, Sub-D, and a headphone jack (3.5mm).

    Pros:

    Cons:

    1ms response time

    Dual HDMI ports

Easy to access headphone jack (3.5mm)

    Contrast of 12M:1

    Low blue light/blue light filter

Color presets for specific types of games

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to anyone in a heart beat. Even if you don't play video games a bunch, it is still worth paying the extra $30 to get this monitor. All of the features that it has beat out all of the other products. It is easily the best monitor for PS4. On top of that, it is specifically optimized for consoles, most monitors are made for both or for PC, but BenQ has gone out of their way to give console gamers their own slice of heaven.

    Conclusion

This is gonna be a short one because it is very straight forward. The BenQ Zowie is the best monitor on this list. All of the features that you get are defiantly worth the extra money, especially because it is optimized specifically for consoles.

    Best PS4 Headset Under $50

    Best PS4 Headset Under $50

If you are serious about gaming, a headset is essential. Even if you aren't, it is still very useful. When playing a competitive shooter game like Call of Duty, Halo, or Fortnite, hearing is very important. It allows you to get the general idea of wear someone is. It is easier to figure that out when the sound is going straight into your ears. It also stops noise from coming out of the monitor or TV which is way quieter than blasting your volume to hear.

After careful consideration, here are what we think are the best PS4 headsets under $50:

What Makes a Great Gaming Headset

    Size

Having the right size headset is something to take into consideration. Headsets generally come at different sizes straight out of the box. There isn't really names for the sizes, some are big and some are small. If you have a smaller head, you don't want something too big, because you usually can't adjust it to be smaller. If you have a bigger head, most headsets have something you can adjust the size with.

    Comfort

Very important. You need something that you can wear. I will give you a bad example, I once had a pair of wireless headphones that were optimized for gaming, music, and phone conversations. They were made of great material and felt good, but after 20 minutes, I had to take them off because they were pressing my ears and it really started to hurt. I prefer something that cups the ears rather than sits on them since it won't rub your ears to the point where it hurts.

    Material

Make sure that they are made of a comfortable material. I think that soft leather covering memory foam is probably the best option, but other things are comfortable. I used to have some sort of synthetic fabric covering memory foam, and they were very comfortable so don't be too picky.

    Breathability

Your headset needs to be breathable. This can be even more uncomfortable than a bad material, if a headset is not breathable, your ears can start to heat up and get really sweaty. This is very uncomfortable and almost makes you feel awkward

    Wireless or Wired

I have kind of made the decision for you since all of these are wired, but it still is something to think about. If you do not buy a headset from our list and search on your own, make sure you know your preference. If you use wired, there is a guarantee of no delay, there might be some with wireless. But if you think the wire is annoying, it might be worth snatching a bluetooth headset.

    Durability

If you are someone who gets angry and rips their headset off and throws it on the ground, make sure your headset can withstand it. The  ONIKUMA PS4 Gaming Headset is the most durable on this list, it can withstand bends and drops, maybe even some of the throws you give it. The others aren't really renowned for their durbability, so if you fit this description, I would go with the ONIKUMA.

    Best PS4 Headsets Under $50

Especially for the price, this is a good headset. It is extremely durable and will withstand all of the drops and tosses you give it. I personally get up and start jumping up and downing when I get killed stupidly and my headset usually falls off. It has good sound quality and is very comfortable and breathable, but there is one problem. The mic quality isn't great, it is not bad, the others are just better.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Extremely durable

    Mic quality not great

    Comfortable, breathable fit

    Clear sound quality

    Good surround sound quality

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to any solo players out there. It is a really good headset for the price, and you will be able to hear everything, but if you are in a squad, you need a very reliable mic. The other headsets can offer that and all of the qualities this one has, but if you don't need the mic, go for this one since it is cheaper.

Another really good headset. It has great surround sound quality which is very important in shooter games. The actual sound quality is really, really good, and the mic sounds like you are in the same room (to the other person). There is a noise cancelling feature that blocks out the majority of the sound in the room. It has a comfortable, breathable fit, but the ear cups are a little shallow, your ear might rub against them sometimes. It is also on the bigger side, it should work fine if you have a small head though.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Great surround sound quality

    Ear cups are little shallow

    (Almost) Complete noise cancellation

    On the bigger side

    Great, clear sound quality

    Fairly comfortable, breathable fit

    Recommendation

I think that anyone would thoroughly enjoy this headset, but people with a larger head might enjoy it more. For all of the qualities it has, it is extremely cheap. But the fact that it is large starting off and can't get any smaller holds it back from tying with the TBI Pro, anyone could fit that one to their head. Overall a very solid headset, just has a few things holding it back.

I think that this is the best PS4 headset under $50. It has great surround sound quality which I believe is essential to shooter games. That basically means that any sounds coming from in front of you will sound like they are in front of you, and same with all other directions. It blocks out all ambient background noise, and the mic blocks out all background noise. The ear cups are made of a soft, breathable leather and memory foam making for a very comfortable fit.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Great surround sound quality

    Blocks out ambient background noise

Mic blocks out all background noise

    Comfortable, breathable fit

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to anyone without hesitation. I think that this is one of the best headsets on the market. The price is almost unbeatable, very cheap. But when you take that and make a headset with stunning quality, it is impossible to beat, and that is what this headset did. This may be my all time favorite headset, I didn't use to use it, but now that I have discovered it, I don't ever want to get another headset.

Best Ryzen 2 X470 Mini ITX Motherboards 2018

Best Ryzen 2 X470 Mini ITX Motherboards 2018

Ryzen has been out for over a year now, and finally, motherboard manufacturers have released Mini ITX X470 motherboards for the AM4 socket. Since the performance of the B350 and X470 has proven to be nothing short of amazing, we've seen an influx of market share go to AMD over this time. Luckily we've got SLI support and a plethora of great features on these motherboards from ASRock, Asus, MSI and more. So let's dive into the specifics and what makes for the absolute best Mini ITX X470 Ryzen motherboards...

You can find current-gen Ryzen processors going for super good deals. Also, AMD already dropped Ryzen prices in January, then pushed them down, even more, this month. Now, costs have plunged yet again for two mainstream models if you’re willing to fill out rebate forms. It's a great time to buy into Ryzen AM4, even if GPU prices are still very inflated (hopefully this changes sooner than later). Here are what we think are the best Ryzen 2 Mini ITX Motherboards 2018:

    B450 or X470 Mini ITX?

So let's get to the point. There are very few Mini ITX X470 motherboards. In fact, there is only one. However, unless you want to run SLI/Crossfire you lose nothing by sticking to B350. If you need to run SLI, strangely enough there are some great ITX options to choose from. Why motherboard manufacturers decided to skip over ITX for the x470 chipset is beyond me. If you need a list of ITX options, see here.

If you are hell-bent on using Mini ITX X470 with Ryzen, anotheroptions is to move up to X399 and threadripper. ASRock has a fantastic high end X399 option, but it's not cheap, unlike our Best gaming mousepads.

    AMD Ryzen 2000 Series

As AMD have promised, the Ryzen 2000-series CPUs will fit into the exact same AM4 CPU socket in the 1000 series Ryzen processors. Though there will be a new set of 400-series chipsets. What this means is if you pick up a X470 or B350 today, you'll be set to drop the new Ryzen processors without issue.

So what is the difference between X370, B350, X470, B450?

Pugetsystems made a nice chart outlining the differences and think it’s worth highlighting.

Mini ITX Motherboards and Why to Downsize?

While the focus has been on full ATX motherboards, we thought it prudent to give an overview of the smaller form factor Mobos for those of us who love smaller form factor cases. We lose out on a few features like additional USB ports, possibly fewer memory slots, fewer PCI slots and a few SATA ports. But, for a lot of us we don’t really use them all anyway.

Whichever the reason may be, you’re here for details on which Mini ITX motherboard is the best for you. So let’s break down some of the best Mini ITX X470 motherboards out on the market.

    Best Mini ITX X470 Motherboards

Due to the limited number of AM4 Mini ITX motherboards, we will be limiting our list to the top 3.

ROG STRIX X470-I GAMING Mini ITX

I thought that maybe ASUS had finally went and abandoned the idea that the ASUS TUF motherboards being superior compared to the other options, I was wrong.

The TUF B350M Mini ITX board has a fairly nice heatsink over the vrm's and has a quiet 80mm fan to boot. Moreover, the integrated network controller is great! The board is quite heavy for it's size but is made with high end components so it makes sense.

With many features like "Fan Xpert 2+" and high end pcie retention sheilds, this earns it's title as the best Mini ITX x470 Ryzen motherboard.

Other notable specifications for the ASUS TUF B350M-Plus Gaming include:

    1 x Fan RGB header2 x USB 2.0
Front USB 3.1 Gen 12 x Chassis Fan connector

    More Info

ASUS brings a lot of functionality with the TUF lineup and the price is honestly reasonable. Now, You don’t see the $400+ price tags like you would on their high end Mini ITX motherboards. But, you still get every feature you should need expectially for such a reasonable price point.

SafeSlot is the name ASUS gave it's PCIe slot retention, and its engineered to provide superior retention and shearing resistance. Manufactured in a single step using a new insert-molding process, SafeSlot integrates fortifying metal for an inherently stronger slot, which is then firmly anchored to the PCB through additional solder points. Or so they say...

    Budget | ASRock A320M PRO4 Mini ITX

ASRock A320M Mini ITX Motherboard review
The budget friendly ASRock A320M PRO4 X470 Mini ITX motherboard can pack quite a bit into a small budget. There isn't currently much more you can ask for in such a small price. For example, this motherboard comes with dual m.2 ssd's. One PCIe Gen3 x4 Ultra M.2 interface that pushes data transfer speeds up to 32Gb/s, and is compatible with ASRock’s U.2 Kit for installing some of the world’s fastest U.2 PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD. And the other one supports SATA3 6Gb/s M.2 modules.

Another great feature of this board is the software package that it comes with. ASRock has a surpisingly useful array of software in the APP Shop. ASRock APP Shop is an all-in-one utility designed for system update and software downloading. It is integrated with a variety of applications and support software. The ASRock APP Shop provides the latest BIOS updates and system upgrade software for users to download. You can easily optimize your system and keep your PC up-to-date with it. 4 x USB 3.1 Gen1 Ports
    1 x Fan RGB header2 x USB 2.0
Front USB 3.1 Gen 12 x Chassis Fan connector

The PRO4 might not be the best Mini ITX X470 motherboard but it gives you the best bang for your buck. However, You cannot argue with the features and build quality provided at this price point. If you're not looking for extreme overclocking capabilities and don't necessarily need the software included in any of the ASUS boards then you might want to settle for the PRO4.

    Conclusion

With the upcoming release of the Ryzen 2000-series CPUs, and the new Nvidia GPUs coming in the summer, now might be a great time to pick up a new X470 Mini ITX motherboard. So, While the next few months the upcoming 400 series mobos might be released, they undoubtedly will come at a steep price.

    Best Micro ATX Z370 Motherboards

Best Micro ATX Z370 Motherboards 2018

Intel recently revealed their 7th generation Kaby lake series CPUs and with them, the Z270 chipset. While the performance of Kaby lake leaves many disappointed, it isn’t unsurprising. Intel abandoned their Tick-Tock model early last year and AMD has been struggling for market share. Therefore, Intel doesn’t have any reason to dump more money into R&D. But if you’re upgrading from an older generation and you’re in the market for the best micro ATX Z370 motherboard then look no further. Here is our breakdown.

It's important to note you can use your old Z270 motherboard with Kaby Lake processors but they'll require a BIOS update in order to work if you're looking to upgrade from Skylake (which you shouldn't if you don't have to.) There are quite a few good additions to the Z370 chipset that might just entice users to upgrade. One of those features is Intel Optane, you can read about it here.

If you are a get to the point kind of person, here are what we think are the best Micro ATX Z370 Motherboards:

    What is a Motherboard

Chances are, if you are researching something this deep, you already know this, but it is still worth addressing. A motherboard is typically thought of as the “backbone” of a computer. It is a essential piece of hardware that allows the computer to run. All of the components inside of the computer are connected to the motherboard. This allows them to communicate with each other and do their job.

This includes video cards, sound cards, hard drives, optical drives, the CPU, RAM sticks, USB ports, a power supply, etc. On the motherboard are also expansion slots, jumpers, capacitors, device power and data connections, fans, heat sinks, and screw holes.

ASUS and GIGABYTE Come Out Swinging

The new round of motherboards has come around again and each has their own unique design and features. Many manufacturers have opted for the RGB trend this time around, no doubt to incentivize users to upgrade. The difference between Z270 and Z370 is very little otherwise. But it's still worthy of an upgrade from older generations.

While there aren’t that many micro ATX Z370 motherboards out as of late January, we will keep reviewing and adding new boards as they are released. Until then, let’s check out what’s currently available.

So, what’s the difference between Z270 and Z370?

The biggest difference comes in the form of the four additional PCI-E lanes. These additional lanes open up bandwidth for things like your m.2 storage, SATA connectors and more. This gives you more options to configure your rig without reducing lanes on say your graphics card for example (normally GPUs use x16 lanes in PCI-e 1 but can be reduced to x8 lanes which can reduce performance about 4%).

Pugetsystems made a nice chart outlining the differences and think it’s worth highlighting.

If you’re looking to upgrade from Z270 the honest answer I can give you is don’t. Unless you’re in a position where the additional PCI-E lanes can benefit you in some tangible way there is no real reason to do so. The biggest benefit you’ll see is if you’re sporting SLI and want to put in a couple of the new PCI-e M.2 storage devices (check out our break down of the best PCI-e M.2s here.

The ASUS ROG Strix Z370G Gaming is the new branding of the former Gene from the ROG lineup. It has the same market in mind and comes with all ASUS has to offer. The Strix has fantastic build construction and clean power delivery. Therefore, making it a great choice for anybody looking to overclock their Kaby Lake or Skylake processors.

Aside from build quality, the Strix has some great unique features aimed to set itself up for the future. For example, this motherboard comes with a USB 3.1 front panel connector, a feature to which no current case supports (at least not as of the time of this article.) In-Win recently reviled the 303 Type-C at CES 2017 but it isn’t currently on the market.

Other notable specifications for the ASUS ROG Strix Z370G Gaming include:

    X2 m.2 slots (both support PCI-E only one supports SATA)X2 internal USB 2.0 headers, X1 USB 3.0
    6 SATA 6.0GB portsPCI-E x16 or PCI-E x8 x8 for SLI
    DDR4 4000mhz X4 channel capabilitySupremeFX Audio
Built in 802.11ac Wi-Fi and 4.1 BluetoothPS2 mouse and keyboard port
5 fan headers, 1 designed for a water pumpIntel I219-V 1GB Ethernet port
    X2 USB 3.1 ports (1 Type-A 1 Type-C)X2 RGB headers

    More Info

ASUS brings a lot of functionality with the Strix and the price is honestly reasonable. You don’t see the $400+ price tags like you would on their high-end ATX motherboards. But, you still get every feature you should need.

The software bundle you receive with the Strix is also very useful. Gone are the days where you scuff at included software with motherboards. ASUS includes their proprietary RAMCache II software giving you options to set up a RAM Drive. Also, they offer “one-click overclocking” which works fantastically. I would check out Wendell’s video to learn more.

ASUS’s ROG Strix Z370G Gaming is an amazing motherboard for micro ATX users. Great UEFI, fantastic build quality, and easy overclocking capability. I can definitively say ASUS knocked it out of the park. One last thing, if you’re wanting to pick up some custom sleeved cables for this build, wait until you receive the mobo. ASUS includes a 20% off coupon for Cablemod cables with your purchase. That alone could save you upwards of $40. I would have to say The Strix Z370G is the best micro atx Z370 motherboard on the market at the time of this review.

Mid Range | Asus Prime Z370M-Plus Micro ATX

    best Micro ATX z370 motherboard
The ASUS Prime Z370M plus is basically a cut down version of the Strix Z270G. It comes with most of the same connectivity as the Strix but without a lot of the bling attached. You lose out on a couple SATA connectors, some onboard RGBs, and the new 3.1 connectors. As well as fan connectors, cable shields, and the SurpremeFX audio driver.

If you're not looking to build a top end system and just want a reliable Z370 mATX motherboard without all the flash then this might be your board. You don't get a lot of the cool new functionality the Strix has but you still get everything a modest gamer needs. Either way, you'll want to compare the two feature sets and decide if you're willing to fork over the extra dough for what equates to "bling"

A few notable specs on the ASUS Prime Z370M-Plus:

    X2 m.2 slots (both support PCI-E and SATA)X4 USB 2.0 ports (x2 internal, x2 external)
    4 SATA 6.0GB portsX4 USB 3.0 Ports (x2 internal, x2 external)
    DDR4 3866mhz X4 channel capabilityPCI-E x16 or PCI-E x8 x4 for SLI
X1 CPU fan connector, X2 chassis fan connectorsRealtek ALC887 Audio
    X1 5Gb/s Type-C PortPS2 mouse and keyboard port
    X2 USB 3.1 ports (1 Type-A 1 Type-C)Intel I219-V 1GB Ethernet port

    More Info

The Prime series is a target for people looking to get the most bang for the buck. It includes really everything the average gamer would need. If you're looking to build a single GPU setup with reasonable storage and an AIO then this might be your mobo. You're going to want to look at your needs and determine if it's worth the extra $50 to move up to the ROG series. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

While the hardware you get is a downgrade, you still receive all of the great software and Z370 specific improvements that ASUS provides. You still get the great overclocking software, the nice UEFI, and RAMCache II RAMDisk software. Although, the 20% cable mod discount isn't included in this motherboard, bummer. Overall, it's a great micro atx Z370 motherboard for those who don't need it all.

    Budget | Gigabyte Z370M Gaming 5 mATX

While many of us would love to build the best of the best systems, sometimes we have to be budget friendly. This is where the Gigabyte GA-Z370M-D3H plays its cards. While you won't get many of the features a premium Z370 mATX motherboard will have you still get everything a reasonable user will need. The Gigabyte Z370M Gaming 5 still comes with great build quality, fantastic USB and SATA support, plus a lot more. We've highlighted the key features down below but if you need a full list check out the manufacturer's site here. Otherwise, keep reading.

    X1 m.2 slots (both support PCI-E and SATA)X4 internal USB 2.0 ports
    6 SATA 6.0GB portsDualBIOS support
    DDR4 3866mhz X4 channel capabilityPCI-E x16 or PCI-E x8 x4 for SLI
X1 CPU fan connector, X3 chassis fan connectorsRealtek ALC892 Audio
    X1 5Gb/s Type-C PortPS2 mouse and keyboard port
    X8 USB 3.1 ports (6 external, 2 internal)Intel GbE LAN chip Ethernet

The Z370M Gaming 5 might not be the best micro ATX Z370 motherboard but it gives you the best bang for your buck. You cannot argue with the features and build quality provided at this price point. If you're not looking for extreme overclocking capabilities and don't necessarily need the software included in any of the ASUS boards then you might want to settle for the gaming 5.

    Conclusion

While it's apparent that Kaby Lake isn't a huge upgrade over Skylake, it still provides nice new features for the chipset. More PCI-E lanes is great for people adopting the new PCI-E standard of m.2 SSD's. Also, the new Intel Optane tech looks cool for when the new 3D NAND technology peeks its head out.

Overall, we look forward to seeing what other motherboard manufacturers bring this year and will update this guide of the best micro ATX Z370 motherboards as we move forward. In the meantime check out one of our other articles, we have recently rated the best seo company in Michigan and you might find a gem in there. Cheers!

Best Micro ATX X370 Ryzen Motherboards 2018

Best Micro ATX X370 Ryzen Motherboards 2018

Ryzen has been out for over a year now, and finally, motherboard manufacturers have released Micro ATX X370 motherboards for the AM4 socket. Since the performance of the B350 and X370 has proven to be nothing short of amazing, we’ve seen an influx of market share go to AMD over this time. Luckily we’ve got SLI support and a plethora of great features on these motherboards from ASRock, Asus, MSI and more. So let’s dive into the specifics and what makes for the absolute best micro ATX X370 Ryzen motherboards…

You can find current-gen Ryzen processors going for super good deals. Also, AMD already dropped Ryzen prices in January, then pushed them down, even more, this month. Now, costs have plunged yet again for two mainstream models if you’re willing to fill out rebate forms. It’s a great time to buy into Ryzen AM4, even if GPU prices are still very inflated (hopefully this changes sooner than later). Here are what we think are the best Micro ATX X370 Ryzen Motherboards 2018:

    What is a Motherboard?

    B350 or X370 MicroATX?

So lets get to the point. There are very few MicroATX X370 motherboards. In fact, there is only one. However, unless you want to run SLI/Crossfire you lose nothing by sticking to B350. If you need to run SLI, strangely enough there are some great ITX options to choose from. Why motherboard manufacturers decided to skip over mATX for the x370 chipset is beyond me. If you need a list of ITX options, see here.

If you are hell-bent on using Micro ATX X370 with ryzen, another option is to move up to X399 and thread ripper. ASRock has a fantastic high-end X399 option, but it’s not cheap, unlike our Best gaming mousepads.

    AMD Ryzen 2000 Series

As AMD has promised, the Ryzen 2000-series CPUs will fit into the exact same AM4 CPU socket in the 1000 series Ryzen processors. Though there will be a new set of 400-series chipsets. What this means is if you pick up a X370 or B350 today, you’ll be set to drop the new Ryzen processors without issue.

So what is the difference between X370, B350, X470, B450?

Pugetsystems made a nice chart outlining the differences and think it’s worth highlighting.

Micro ATX (mATX) Motherboards and Why to Downsize?

While the focus has been on full ATX motherboards, we thought it prudent to give an overview of the smaller form factor Mobos for those of us who love smaller form factor cases. We lose out on a few features like additional USB ports, possibly fewer memory slots, less PCI slots and a few SATA ports. But, for a lot of us we don’t really use them all anyway.

Whichever the reason may be, you’re here for details on which mATX motherboard is the best for you. So let’s break down some of the best Micro ATX X370 motherboards out on the market.

    Best Micro ATX X370 Motherboards

Due to the limited number of AM4 mATX motherboards, we will be limiting our list to the top 3.

    Editors Pick

High End | ASUS TUF B350M-PLUS GAMING

    TUF B350M-PLUS GAMING matx

I thought that maybe ASUS had finally gone and abandoned the idea that the ASUS TUF motherboards being superior compared to the other options, I was wrong.

The TUF B350M mATX board has a fairly nice heatsink over the vrm’s and has a quiet 80mm fan to boot. Moreover, the integrated network controller is great! The board is quite heavy for its size but is made with high-end components so it makes sense.

With many features like “Fan Xpert 2+” and high-end PCIe retention shields, this earns its title as the best mATX x370 Ryzen motherboard.

Other notable specifications for the ASUS TUF B350M-Plus Gaming include:

    4 xDDR4 3200(O.C.)Realtek ALC887 Audio
    6 x SATA 6Gb/s PortsRealtek RTL8111H LAN Chipset
    AURA Sync RGB Lighting2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2
    M.2 Support
    Both SATA & PCIE mode
    4 x USB 3.1 Gen 1
    1 x Fan RGB header2 x USB 2.0
Front USB 3.1 Gen 12 x Chassis Fan connector
    More Info

ASUS brings a lot of functionality with the TUF lineup and the price is honestly reasonable. Now, You don’t see the $400+ price tags like you would on their high-end mATX motherboards. But, you still get every feature you should need especially for such a reasonable price point.

SafeSlot is the name ASUS gave it’s PCIe slot retention, and its engineered to provide superior retention and shearing resistance. Manufactured in a single step using a new insert-molding process, SafeSlot integrates fortifying metal for an inherently stronger slot, which is then firmly anchored to the PCB through additional solder points. Or so they say…

    Budget | ASRock A320M PRO4 mATX

    ASRock A320M mATX Motherboard review
The budget-friendly ASRock A320M PRO4 X370 mATX motherboard can pack quite a bit into a small budget. There isn’t currently much more you can ask for at such a small price. For example, this motherboard comes with dual m.2 SSD’s.

ASRock has a surprisingly useful array of software in the APP Shop. Also, APP shop is geared up with numerous popular PC games. You can also receive exclusive bonuses, in-game items. Not too bad.

A few notable specs on the ASRock A320M PRO4:

    4 xDDR4 3200(O.C.)Realtek ALC892 Audio
    4 x SATA 6Gb/s PortsRealtek 8111GR LAN Chipset
    Support for APP Center1 x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C Port
    M.2 Support
    Both SATA & PCIE mode
    4 x USB 3.1 Gen1 Ports
    1 x Fan RGB header2 x USB 2.0
Front USB 3.1 Gen 12 x Chassis Fan connector
The PRO4 might not be the best micro ATX X370 motherboard but it gives you the best bang for your buck. However, You cannot argue with the features and build quality provided at this price point. If you’re not looking for extreme overclocking capabilities and don’t necessarily need the software included in any of the ASUS boards then you might want to settle for the PRO4.

    Conclusion

With the upcoming release of the Ryzen 2000-series CPUs, and the new Nvidia GPUs coming in the summer, now might be a great time to pick up a new X370 mATX motherboard. So, While the next few months, the upcoming 400 series mobos might be released, they undoubtedly will come at a steep price.

    Best 2 Tera-Byte Hard Drive for PS4

    Best 2 Tera-Bite Hard Drive for PS4

If you are someone like me who has a couple different game series that they buy every game for, chances are you need more storage. I am very used to having limited storage and installing games. It is just so much easier to get a hard drive because I often want to go back to those games. If you aren't like this, 2 tera-bites might be a little high for you, but it would still do. Here are the best 2 tera-bite hard drives for PS4:

What Makes a Great Hard Drive

Alright, to be honest, there is not a lot to be said here, but there are a few things I will go over.

    Easy to Hook-up

You don't want a hard drive that takes a bunch of cables and uses a bunch of your inputs. That is (ironically) a waste of space. That is easily avoided by these hard drives though, as they use at most 1 cable.

    Easy to Format

Once again, you don't want a hard drive that takes years to format, that is a waste of time. The Fantom Drive does take longer to format and hook up, but the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The other two you simply plug in and follow the on screen instructions.

    Size

Make sure that you have enough space, these are relatively small, and you could set them on top of you console, but I need to address this regardless.

Best 2tb Hard Drives for PS4

After that extremely short intro, here are the best hard drives for PS4.

Being an upgrade kit, this is harder to install. There are a couple formatting files and software updates required, but the included instructions give you all of the information that you need. In addition to the hard drive, you also get an 8GB flash drive. To be honest, I am not exactly sure what it is for, but it is a nice addition. You are also able to reformat the PS4's internal hard drive to be an external hard drive with this thing

    Pros:

    Cons:

    2 tera-bites

    Installation is more time consuming

    Additional 8 giga-bite flash drive

    More expensive

Can reformat the PS4's internal hard drive

Harder to move games from PS4 to this hard-drive

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to anyone who is willing to take the extra time to install it. It is slightly more expensive than the others, and if that does not bother you, then go for it. The 8 giga-bite flash drive is a bonus (at least for me) and you can reformat the internal hard drive. You do unfortunately have to reinstall each disc onto this hard drive if you want to transfer them. Like I said if you have a lot of time, this is a great choice.

This is a more direct... plug in I guess you could say. All you have to do is plug this thing in, and follow the on screen instructions. It takes about 5 minutes to set up and get formatted. It is also a much smaller hard drive than the other two meaning it would work better if you have extremely limited space. Once again it is time consuming to transfer games, but it is worth it because of the ease of setting up.

    Pros:

    Cons:

Very easy and short set up

Harder to move games from PS4 to hard drive

Pretty small, easy to tuck away

A lot cheaper than Fantom Drive

    2 tera-bites

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to pretty much anyone, as long as you don't mind a slow transfer of games. It is very simple to format, you just have to follow the on screen instructions and takes 5 minutes. Pretty much everyone has that kind of time. This hard drive works better than the other two with other drives also. If you really wanted to, you could hook it up to an Xbox or a PC.

    Pros:

    Cons:

Set-up is extremely short, shortest of all hard drives

Very thin, easy to fit in cramped (vertically) spaces

    Game transfer is shorter

    2 tera-bites

A lot cheaper than the Fantom Drive

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to anyone. I just think that it shares all of the qualities with the other hard drives, but it also amps some of them up. It kind of annoys me that there isn't much to be said here, but it can pretty much be summed up in that one sentence, it is simply better than the others in my opinion.

    Conclusion

Once again going to be a short paragraph, but there aren't many things to consider when choosing a hard drive. It is really just about being picky. There aren't tons of brands out there, so I just look fo one that has all of the qualities of its competitors, and that is the Seagate 2tb Hard Drive for PS4.

    Best PS4 Couch Co-op Games

    Best PS4 Couch Co-op Games

Couch co-op games are something that a lot of families with willing parents and young kids have these days. It is fun for the whole family because parents get a taste of this generation and what there kids will grow up with, and the kids, well, they get to play video games with their parents. I personally have a dad and brother who love video games, and a mom who will play them if they aren't first person. This means that we have to find games that aren't first person and younger kids can play. These games typically end up being very high quality. I used to play a lot of Call of Duty with my dad, and hope to again upon the release of Black Ops 4, any parents with older kids should definitely consider that series of game.

Here are what we think are the best PS4 couch co-op games:

What Makes a Great Couch Co-op Game

There isn't too much to be said here, because this kind of depends on your opinion, but there are a few general things. First is being able to play well. You need a game where there aren't constant collisions between the characters. This can frequently happen in side-scroller games that are couch co-op.

Second is being able to have 4-players. This isn't as important, but it is nice to have the option. If you have a larger family and everyone likes video games, or you are having friends over and they all want to play, it is nice to be able to play with 4-players instead of 2. This isn't always possible, especially with split-screen games, but if it is, I would jump at the opportunity.

Third is all of the characters having a purpose. No one wants to be that one character that has almost no use. An example of the is Mario Galaxy, this is couch co-op, but for 2 players. The second player is a star character who floats behind Mario. All he can do is collect stars that act as a currency in the game.

    What To Consider Before Buying

    Rating

Rating is pretty important. If you have little kids in the family, you might not want to buy the  latest Call of Duty and have them play zombies. (COD WW2 Zombies has jump scares that even scared me). If you don't want your kid playing a game where enemies blood spill on the ground after you kill them, I wouldn't recommend Borderlands 2. Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is a kid friendly shooter game. It is based off of the popular IOS game Plants vs Zombies. There is no blood, and none of the characters are scary.

    How Long Will it Last

Once again, important. You don't want to open up a game for your kids or with your friends and play it for 5 minutes then never touch it again. I can tell you that all of these games will last for a really long time. These games have been constantly played by my family (6 year old, 14 year old, two 46 year olds) for probably 3 years. Heck, we've even played Overcooked with extended family and family friends.

    Price

This kind of goes hand and hand with length of life. I'm gonna just get straight to the point on this one, all of these games are definitely worth the price. If you are looking at other games, make sure that you will play it enough for the price to make sense.

    Best PS4 Couch Co-op Games

Rocket League is a very unique game. Basically, everyone in the game is in a car, you drive around and try to hit the ball into the goal, most points at the end wins. It is soccer in a car... with a bigger ball. This might sound stupid and childish, but trust me it is extremely fun, you won't want to stop. It also suits all ages: there is competitive, for any hardcore gamers; there is Versus, you can play online against and with other people; you can play against the AI, either with a friend or alone; and you can practice. There is 4-player couch co-op (split screen) on all of these modes, except practice mode.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    Suits all ages

Very hard to get good at, may be difficult to learn (for little kids)

    Multiple different modes

Fun to play alone or together

    Split screen functionality is great

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to any group of people looking to play couch co-op above the age of 10. The problem is that you need to have a strong enough thought process. I can tell you from personal experience, there are too many things to think about at once for a younger kid. It is a great game for any friends who are playing couch co-op and families with older kids, but I would steer away from this one if you have younger kids.

Rayman Legends is what we would call a side scroller or platformer. This basically means that every time you enter a level, you move to the right and it reveals more of the level, very similar to the Mario games. Throughout the level, you run into enemies, obstacles, and occasionally bosses. These games end up being a little more cooperative (nothing like Overcooked), the layout prevents you from separating. I can't speak as much for Rayman Legends as I have played it the least of the 5, but I know that it is a great game. It has a storyline like Mario, a big boss gets split into 5 of himself and captures 10 princesses, if you save all ten princesses, you essentially win, there is other stuff you have to do to unlock the last world, but those are the basics.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    4 player split screen

Might not last long, upon completion of the game, not much more to do

Very simple great for little kids

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to any families with younger kids looking to start gaming. This game is okay for friends looking mess around, the only problem is, there isn't enough freedom. You could say that Borderlands 2 doesn't have freedom, but some parts of that game take cooperation and there is always an enemy around the corner. In Rayman Legends, I feel like there just isn't enough to hold a group of teenagers to it. Then again, it does kind of depend on your personality, I liked it, but wouldn't necessarily play, while my friend (who loves Mario) loves it and couldn't get enough of it.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is 2 of games in the Borderlands series, Borderlands Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2. These are two of my favorite games of all time. It almost has the feel of a side scroller, but it isn't a straight line, and it's a first person shooter. You are just walking through a world taken over by some sort of evil weird race trying to clear it out. Every so often you come upon checkpoints and bosses. At the checkpoints, your robotic buddy ClapTrap gives you new objectives and tells you where the next checkpoint is. It does have blood and it is a game where you shoot other people, so it is rated M.

    Pros:

    Cons:

    4 player spilt screen

    Rated M

    First person shooter

Possibility of enemies around every corner, ambushes everywhere

Enemies drop awesome loot and can tinker with awesome perks and skills

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to anyone who is okay playing a M rated game. You don't know how badly I want to give this an A+, the game plays so well and there are so many weapons to get, bad guys to kill, and perks to obtain. I just can't because of the rating, there are a lot of parents out there who don't want their kids playing games where you kill people and their blood spills on the ground. If that is the case, try Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2. If you are okay with the killing and the blood, I would definitely recommend this, it is great for groups of friends looking to play together, you can set up ways to take back towns by flanking from different sides and making a group effort to kill bosses.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 took the popular IOS game and turned into a third person shooter. It is one of the most fun games I have ever played with someone. My brother and I play it all the time, and it is easier for him than rocket league. There are is a local mode called backyard battlegrounds where you can battle with or against friends and AI. You don't gain or loose anything from dying, but you can occasionally pick up some coins. In addition to this, there are a bunch of local modes you can play against the AI (split screen) and you can also play online against real people (also split screen). The whole game requires WiFi though.  I can't really describe it well enough, there is just so much to do that it is hard to put into words.

    Pros:

    Cons:

All the local modes make it way easier for little kids

    Requires WiFi on all modes

Online modes always available to play

    Only 2 player split screen

Bunch of hidden features (side quests, campaign mode), can never finish the game

Not as fast paced as some shooter games, easier to hit targets

    Recommendation

I think that I could recommend this to almost anyone. It is slowed paced enough that parents who aren't good at video games could play with their little kids and still have a fighting chance, especially in local modes. It might look a little scary in some of the "cutscenes" when loading in the game, but if your kid can handle Monsters Inc. they should be fine. If you are someone who is confident in shooter games (Call of Duty, Fortnite, Halo) like me, it is great game for different reasons. It gives you a chance to slow down your game and look at how to improve. In local modes, the AI aren't very good, my brother can have fun playing without getting destroyed, and I can basically have a target practice session and rack up kills.

Without a doubt the best PS4 couch co-op game out there. It is perfectly optimized for groups and requires everyone to work in perfect harmony. The game is fairly simple, each level is a different kitchen, you will start getting orders and for every order you complete, you will get money, you need a certain amount of money to complete each level. For every order you fail, you lose a certain amount of money. The controls are very simple, walk, pick up/place, and cut. Two buttons, one stick. Some of the levels actually require a plan, and some everyone can do their own thing and you can still win. I have no idea how many levels there are, but with friends and family, I have completed something like 15-20 levels.

    Pros:

    Cons:

Really simple controls, easy to learn

Can split controllers (pop ut appears before you start a level giving option to split controllers) and play 4 players with 2 controllers

Takes a lot of time to complete

No matter what age, always something that is not complicated to do

    Recommendation

I would recommend this to any family or group of friends. To give a picture of who likes this game, let me tell you my experience. The best group I have ever played with was a 14 year old, a 16 year old, a 26 year old, and a 46 year old. My 7 year old brother loves it and will play it with anyone. All of my cousins (10-24) love it. Even the babysitter loved it. I ahem played it with groups of friends and they all thought it was awesome, literally anyone can play the game and have fun. With that and the controller split, I think Overcooked earns the title best PS4 couch co-op game.

    Conclusion

This is going to be a short sum up, but Overcooked is the best PS4 couch co-oop game. It is hard to be the controller split feature, not to mention the inclusiveness of the game and the cooperativeness. A game does not get better when playing couch co-op than this.
